Drink Water
You need to replenish the water that you have lost overnight, plus some in the morning in order to stay hydrated. I personally make sure to drink at least 16oz first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up. I don’t take more than a couple steps before I drink it. In doing this I have noticed a dramatic increase in how fast I can get going in the day and how awake I am in the morning. Before I started drinking the water right away it would take me close to an hour to be ready to work. Now that I drink a lot in the morning I can get going in 10 min or less. I am obviously only one person, and I don’t know how much of that is a placebo, but It has worked wonders for me and I would highly recommend you give it a try yourself.
Exercise
Exercise is a great way to energize yourself at any point in the day, but I have noticed that doing it in the morning not only helps me stay energized during the day, but it also helps me sleep at night. If you have experienced a similar phenomenon make sure to let me know I would love to hear others results.
Don’t touch social media
The single worst thing you can do to your day, and I will die on this hill, is start scrolling. If you wake up and turn to your phone you have ruined your productivity for the day. Nearly every unproductive day that I have ever had, started with me consuming content too early. Even educational content. It is just too easy to get trapped by all of the cleverly designed videos and posts that hold your attention. Don’t set your day up for failure, keep away from social media until you feel like you have gotten enough done for the day.
Get some sun
Getting some good old vitamin D is not only good for you, it can put you in a better mood as well. Who doesn’t like work more when they are having a good day?
